Flower Blessing Ceremony & Cacao w/ Paula López
Flowers are a caress for the soul, a gift. They invite us with their sweetness to open our hearts and connect with our purest and most subtle essence. They invite us to leave our minds to feel each cell of our body. With their magic, freshness, aromas and colours, they will give us their blessing and thus connect with the memory of blooming.
Cacao is known as the food of the gods. This medicine comes from the land of the Mayans, Guatemala, and has high levels of antioxidants, magnesium and anandamide (the bliss molecule). The spirit of cacao brings a subtle opening of the heart and activation of the chakra system; it is a beautiful aid to meditation, dance, writing, singing, sound healing and other creative experiences.
The flower blessing ceremony was created by Kuauhtli Vasquez and his family in 1998. Together, they fused Mexica and Northern Native American traditions during a Mexica New Year’s Eve celebration in Houston, Texas.
Paula López received this ceremony from Kuauhtli Vasquez. Kuauhtli is one of the leaders of the global indigenous rights movement in Mexico and the chief representative of Native American culture at the United Nations. He also conducts Peyote ceremonies, Native American Church tipi meetings and temazcals (sweat lodges).
